Crafting Film & Growing People
I am a producer, executive producer and director specialising in feature documentaries. My work spans 30 years.
I have been making films for many years, from the fledging OSBD media charity which started when I was a full-time youth worker at a large church in Birmingham back in the mid 1990’s. OSBD was innovative, many said ahead of its time as we created films and resources for youth work and helped develop young people in their film making journeys. Then, in 2008 came the creative and commercial work with Blue Hippo Media and on into full cinema released and TV films, that I produced and at times directed.
I have also spent all these past 30 years mentoring and helping develop emerging film talent. I have also set up film festivals, a master’s degree in film distribution and developed film and media strategies for the West Midlands and Devon.
It has been an incredible journey working with brilliant people and sometimes going to amazing places around the world.
Crafting Film
I have produced and directed projects on various topics from depicting record shops and the vinyl explosion to mountain biking solo climbing and art, cycling and water pollution campaigning , garnering critical acclaim and multiple awards.
I produced 2 x BAFTA winner, Michael B.Clifford’s documentaries
Bicycle and Chasing The Sun.
My debut feature drama film, The Insatiable Moon, coproduced with Tim Sanders (Lord of the Rings) and filmed in New Zealand was released theatrically in the UK and the NZ and went on to win the prestigious Moondance Festival USA and 2 NZ National Film awards.
